The U.S.S. Nakatomi is ordered to patrol a region of space where the Klingons and Romulans are at a standoff following the Hobus disaster, and the region is a hotbed where anything could set of a volatile situation between the two superpowers. The primary goal of the Nakatomi is to make certain that a conflict does not spill over into Federation space while providing support to their allies the Klingon Empire should they need it.

Summary

The Ronin-class starship U.S.S. Nakatomi finds themselves patrolling the border shared by the Klingons, Federation, and Romulans when the sudden appearance of a distress signal just out of the Federation Border and between the Romulan and Klingon Border catches their attention. The signal is coming from the starship U.S.S. Jakarta NX-19 a vessel from the early days of the United Federation of Planets. The Nakatomi chooses to investigate because the ship has been missing for more than a century and it is a chance for them to finally learn of the fate of those on board and the starship itself.

The U.S.S. Nakatomi arrives at Tak'NoS a former Klingon outpost that remains along the Klingon and Romulan border where the crashed Jakarta is found to be on the surface of the planet. The crew also discover a derelict K-7 station in orbit around the planet, but J'Kodran who has been given command of the Nakatomi decides to send an away team to the surface first. During the mission Commander Garrett Rosa de Sanchez discovers his medication has vanished and the medication in sickbay has also vanished.

Doctor Traenai, Lieutenant Sarah Crawford, and Counselor Endiley convince the Commander that there is a risky surgery that would help rebuild his knee and the muscle tissue. This procedure would save him pain in the long run, but he may never walk again he agrees with little options left to fight the problem he's fought for years following the Dominion War. While he is under the knife Lieutenant Commander J'Kodran is given command, and after the away mission starts led by Lieutenant Ta'Kuna to the ship on the surface he turns his attention towards the K-7 station.

The marine unit is sent to the abandoned station where they discover files noting that there is a prison camp on the planet. With Ensign Rhys on the surface who discovers the cause for the distress beacon to be a timer and collects personnel logs and files while Lieutenant Axlyn and Lieutenant Ta'Kuna discover the remains of Lieutenant Commander Aaron Sanchez. First Lieutenant Jon Gunn returns with the information, and Commander J'Kodran discover that this is the station where his family originated from.

Garrett Rosa de Sanchez returns to duty in time to order the ship to gather information from the abandoned prison camp by uploading it directly to the ship so that J'Kodran can further his investigation into his family. He also orders the science, medical, and engineering teams to continue to investigate the Jakarta incident while the ship returns to their patrol route. The mission comes to a close with Commander Rosa de Sanchez ordering his ship back to the patrol route.

Background Information

Jakarta is the capital city of Indonesia and the primary port city.

The idea of this mission stemmed from the idea of finding an old NX class ship from around the time of the Romulan-Earth war, and the gamemaster's love for the Enterprise series.
