Eranfel is a Denobulan scientist and Starfleet commanding officer in his late thirties, Captain of the USS Komorkis. Born on Starbase 383, he has known nothing but a life in space and has a drive for exploration. Charming, independent, energetic, and compassionate, Eranfel certainly can be felt in any crowd. Shaped by his intuitive quality, it allows him to read between the lines with curiosity and energy. Eranfel tends to see life as a big, complex puzzle where everything is connected. To him, It is like looking at things through a prism of emotion, compassion, and mysticism, and are always looking for a deeper meaning. It is these traits that have led him to not only be a great leader by understanding and driving the people he works with but also to be a great explorer; passionate, and always seeking something more.
Born on a starbase in the year 2355, Eranfel is the son of Tofox and his first wife, Khrexa. Tofox was the Chief of Operations for the station while his mother was a civilian scientist who worked in the large research arboretum. With both of them always busy, they tried to instill a sense independence in their son. Little did they understand how much it would serve him. When Eranfel was just twelve years old the station came under attack during a raid from the Tzkenkethi and unfortunately his father was killed during the battle.
Despite the bold independence Eranfel had, the death of his Father was not something the young Denobulan took well. Soon he was getting into trouble and having issues focusing on his schooling. His Mother knew a fellow scientist aboard the station, an Andorian astrobiologist. The Andorian, Lieutenant Lorishtalla zh'Razhi, introduced Eranfel to astrobiology as well as vershaan, an Andorian martial art to help control his anger. over the years Eranfel studied vershaan when Lorishtalla offered her classes and was tutored by her as well, developing a strong interest in the sciences and finding his way once more. By fifteen he made his mother aware he wanted to join Starfleet academy after graduation to which she agreed with a sense of pride only a mother could have. When he was eighteen Eranfel graduated high school and submitted his application to Starfleet Academy. He was accepted after passing his tests and in the year 2372 with tension rising between the Federation and the Dominion Eranfel was sent to the next class at the Academy Annex on Beta Ursae Minor II.
Once Eranfel reached the Starfleet Academy Annex life seemed wide-eyed to him. It was on Beta Ursae II that he found a second love, stellar cartography. Throughout his academy career, the budding Denobulan focused hard on his studies and was awarded a rare chance to serve his third year of Academy training onboard a space station that orbited the planet. Onboard Starbase 40, Eranfel served as a lab assistant in stellar cartography. He finished his abroad training with high recommendations and in the year 2377, he graduated in the top five percent of his class.
After the academy, Eranfel was assigned to the USS Fairchild as an astrobiology officer. A hard worker and dedicated individual, the young ensign made a name for himself on the science team and was eventually moved to the beta shift as a general science officer. His social personality and willingness to not hold back and always speak up led to the young Ensign pointing out his own observations about a strange disc-shaped station the crew encountered in the middle of nowhere during a survey mission. This observation led him to be assigned on the away team, joining among others the Chief Science Officer and ship's Executive Officer. The events on that mission led to his promotion to Lieutenant Junior Grade. A year later he was offered and accepted the role of Assistant Chief Science Officer when their current one accepted a promotion off the ship.
For the next three years, Eranfel began to learn the skills of leadership as he balanced his love of science at the same time. With strong mentors from the ships Chief Science Officer and Executive Officer Eranfel went on after a period of time to become respected by the science team and command team as well. It was felt the young Denobulan had a natural knack for leadership and when the opportunity within their task force came up for a new Chief Science Officer aboard the Yggdrasil, under encouragement he applied and was awarded the position and also named the new Second Officer aboard the ship. While Eranfel had begun to learn the basis of Command aboard the Fairchild it was aboard the Yggrdasil that he continued to learn more about the future of himself. One, he learned that his style of command was servant leadership, and two he realized he had a preference for smaller ships and the intimate atmosphere they brought with them.
His time aboard the Miranda Class Yggrdasil and working with its crew over four years felt like a whirlwind at times but during other periods it was some of the most rewarding and challenging moments Eranfel enjoyed. Being apart of the first contact mission to the Draenel alongside his Captain, dealing with rogue gamma pulsars threatening inhabited planets. All of it showed Eranfel what he could do and then some. And because of that in the year 2388, he was offered the role of First Officer aboard the USS Kolob, an Intrepid-class starship. For the next six years, Eranfel found himself growing fond of a relentless crew of what he would come to call family. The Captain and he worked together like clockwork, a well-oiled machine where the two knew each other like the back of one another hands and were best friends. He was so comfortable he even turned down a command opportunity once because he felt the Kolob was home. But the second time Starfleet came knocking after his courage and performance dealing with the Kunshaya occupation of the Kreel homeworld his Captain made sure Eranfel listened this time. While it was hard to leave the family he had built with the Kolob behind he knew there was a new one waiting for him to mold all on his own with his ship.
So it came to be that one the spring of 2393 after completing his final command courses and waiting for the construction of his ship to finalize Eranfel was given command of the USS Komorkis, an Insignia class vessel all of his own. And now he has is prepared to do what he loves best, to explore with no end in sight.
When it comes to exploring new places and new ideas Eranfel wants to go out and experience things and doesn’t hesitate to step out of his comfort zones to do so. The Captain is imaginative and open-minded, seeing all things as part of a big, mysterious puzzle called life. Eranfel enjoys both small talk and deep, meaningful conversations, which are just two sides of the same coin for him, and he's adept at steering conversations towards his desired subjects in ways that feel completely natural and unforced. It makes him an excellent communicator.
Something however that Eranfel has often struggled with in life is that he doesn’t take things at face value – he looks for underlying motives in even the simplest things. It’s not uncommon for him to lose a bit of sleep asking himself why someone did what they did, what it might mean, and what to do about it.
Some day Eranfel would like to start a family as it is something important in his culture. Having just gotten the Captain's chair he has no desire to give it up, at all. Though he does desire to one day be apart of a task force that is exploring the Delta or Gamma quadrants. Eranfel also is an avid rock climber, as Denobulans have excellent natural abilities to scale walls and rock surfaces much like lizards. He enjoys keeping up to date with the study of astrobiology, practicing vershaan, listening to Bolian jazz, and gardening.
