This article has been marked as an article borrowed from another source and needs modifying or replacing.

Users

  1. Members may only have one PF Wiki account. Accounts may be renamed at the member's request. System Bots created by Administrators do not count as a full Wiki account.

Editing Behaviour

  1. Administrators (members of the Wiki Team) may edit any part of the Wiki save for policies, specifications and other pages that must have changes approved by the PFA. Pages included amongst those Administrators may edit are; articles, categories, images, and user pages.
  2. Any page may be locked ("protected") by an Administrator. Article Talk pages should explain any denied access, except in the case of any official document of Pegasus Fleet. Official PF Documents may only be changed on the authority of the PFA. Pages that are not official documents of Pegasus Fleet should not be locked without due reason.
  3. Do not create or edit articles for the purpose of defaming any simming organisation (sim or fleet) or person on or off the internet; within or outside of Pegasus Fleet. Members are encouraged to write articles from a factual basis, with as little personal influence as possible. Sometimes this is unavoidable, in that the facts stir emotional debates or an opposing viewpoint. However, no member is to use these articles as a launchpad for their personal vendettas. Repeat offenders will be referred to the JAG.
  4. Vandalism will not be tolerated. Vandalism is generally defined as editing a wiki in a way that is intentionally disruptive or destructive. There are four generally acknowledged types of vandalism; deletion of legitimate information, insertion of nonsense or irrelevant content, addition of unwanted commercial links (spam), and policy violations specific to the wiki. Pegasus Fleet members who participate in Vandalism will have their content removed, receive a warning, and be added to a list of "known Wiki Vandals". Repeat offenders will be sent to the JAG.
  5. Users are responsible for their own articles, such as characters, sim pages, and user pages; however, minor edits (spelling corrections, etc.) are acceptable for anyone to perform.
  6. Use the Show preview button to cut down on excessive edits. Attempt to make as many edits as possible in one Save rather than a series.
  7. If a member demonstrates a severe inability to use the Wiki correctly or a disregard for these policies on at least three occasions, the member can be banned from the Wiki until such time as the Head Wiki Administrator rescinds it. This will be decided on a case-by-case basis by the Wiki Staff. (These would follow bans issued under the policies outlined below.)

Talk/Discussion Pages

  1. Talk pages may not be cleared. It is necessary to retain all conversations to preserve a record of the discussions to eliminate repeat topics.
    1. Specific talk pages may have their content archived on a sub-page (such as Talk:Main Page/Archive 1) if the page has excessive length. This archiving will by done by an Administrator.
  2. Do not make snide comments or target members on any Talk page. It is necessary to remain civil and mature in matters of disagreement. Offenders will receive bans, and repeat offenders will be referred to the JAG.
  3. Sign and date your posts to talk pages (not articles!). The correct way to do this is to paste four tildes at the end of your post, such as this; ~~~~.
  4. Disagreements must be discussed on the article's Talk page, not on the main article.

Content

  1. Avoid obscene or ridiculously unneeded information (e.g. Bob hates Jim because he took the last apple from ship stores last year).
  2. Information should not be copied directly from any source outside of Pegasus Fleet. Members who are found to copy in such a way will be referred to the JAG. This includes content from Memory Alpha and Wikipedia. If you feel the need to create an article on topics found on other sites, ensure that the content is unique an appropriate to Pegasus Fleet. If unique information from another source is used, obtain permission where possible and credit the origin of the information in the article's talk page.

Images

  1. Images should not be uploaded if they are not going to be used. Unused images that have remained so for more than twenty four (24) hours will be subject to deletion.
  2. Images should not be of excessive size, in either pixels or memory size.
  3. All images in all infoboxes must be set at 300px, unless their original size is 300px or less.

Image Categorisation

  1. If you upload an image, you must categorise it. A list of available categories can be found at Category:Image Categories.
  2. If you upload an image, you must include the {{fairuse}} tag, even if you created it.
Here is a prime example of how to do it correctly
{{fairuse}}
[[Category:Images-Characters]]

Banning

1 day Ban

  • User does not use the "Show preview" button after two warnings,
  • User does not categorise images after two warnings or;
  • User insults another on a talk page.

3 day Ban

  • User does not use the "Show preview" button after a total of three warnings,
  • User does not categorise images after a total of three warnings or;
  • User displays continued insults on a talk page after a 1 day ban.

Bans for longer periods, other than where mentioned below, are deemed on a case-by-case basis.

Infinite Ban

  • User is expelled from Pegasus Fleet or;
  • User is a spambot.
