Originally designed to combat the threat of the Borg and the Dominion, the Sovereign class was built to include all of the latest advancements in offensive and defensive technologies. She proved she was worth the effort, with the USS Enterprise helping to defeat the Borg in the Battle of Sector 001, and the Dominion War won with the help of the powerful warhorses.

Now the Federation is at peace once again, but the Sovereign class starships still have a purpose to serve. Assigned to the Eleventh Fleet and captained by Commander Benjamin Byrne, the Endeavour has one of the widest mission profiles of any ship in the fleet, giving her also one of the most public profiles of the ships in the fleet, with the hopes that it can complete the critical mission that the Sovereign class starships now bear on their shoulders.
