Post Shinzon Incident
After the events of the Shizon uprising, the Romulan Star Empire found itself grappling with a civil war. The old guard that wanted to push for Romulus to return to its Imperialistic tendancies, while many of the outer colonies pushed for a "people's government" to little avail. Hobus Disaster
