This page has been adopted by the PFA as an official policy.

Under the Pegasus Fleet Constitution, certain by-laws may be created to assist in the administration of the fleet. They are numbered in the order that they were passed.

By-Law #1 - Succession

  1. Upon the resignation or removal of the Pegasus Fleet Commanding Officer (PFCO) from their position, the Pegasus Fleet Executive Officer (PFXO) shall be promoted to PFCO, subject to a simple majority vote (>50%) of the Pegasus Fleet Admiralty. The vote shall be administered by the highest ranking member of the Pegasus Fleet Admiralty according to time served.
  1. If the PFXO declines the promotion, or the PFA votes against such promotion in the vote described in Section 1 above, then the following procedure shall be utilized to select the successor to the former PFCO:
a) The PFXO, or if there is no PFXO, the most senior member of the PFA by rank as outlined in subsection (e) below, shall assume the day-to-day duties of the PFCO until such time as a new PFCO is selected in accordance with the subsections below.
b) Within one week of the assumption of PFCO duties, each member of the PFA that wishes to be considered for the PFCO position must make their candidacy known to the PFA. They may include, at their option, a brief explanation of why they believe they would be the best candidate for PFCO.
c) Upon conclusion of the one week period of subsection (b) above, the entire PFA must vote on the nominated candidates. If there are more than two (2) candidates, the vote shall eliminate the candidate with the fewest votes, and a new vote will then be held with the remaining candidates. This shall continue until only two (2) candidates remain. When only two (2) candidates remain, a simple majority vote (>50%) shall determine which candidate becomes the new PFCO.
d) The votes described in subsection (c) shall be administered by the most senior member of the PFA by rank, that is not a candidate for the PFCO position, as outlined in subsection (e) below, shall administer the voting.
e) In the event that there is no PFXO, the highest ranking member of the PFA shall assume the duties mentioned in subsection (a) above. If two or more members of the PFA share the highest rank, selection between them shall be determined based on greater time served in the PFA. If the time served in PFA is equal, then selection between them shall be determined based on greater time served in Pegasus Fleet.

  • Task Force 56 - Based in the Northern Frontier
  • Division 74 - Niche Task Force

By-Law #4 - Fleet Canon

  1. In Character events, individuals, species, locations and other such articles may be added to the Pegasus Fleet Wiki at any time, by any fleet member, so long as it is written in good taste. All items that do not fall under any of the other categories must have the {{Icons|noncanon}} template added to them.
  2. Trek Canon: Trek Canon shall be determined as any In Character event, individual, species, location, or other In Character article that occurred as fact in the mainstream Star Trek TV series (TOS, TNG, DS9, VOY, and to some extent ENT) and the first ten Star Trek movies (from The Motion Picture through to Nemesis). Star Trek novels, comics, and additional expanded universe material is not considered Trek Canon by the fleet. Trek Canon shall take primacy above all other In Character items within the Fleet. All articles which fall under Trek Canon must have the {{Icons|tc}} template placed on their page on the Pegasus Fleet Wiki.
  3. Fleet Canon: Fleet Canon shall be determined as any In Character event, individual, species, location or other In Character article that has been approved by the Pegasus Fleet Admiralty and the Commanding Officers of the Fleet as an article of significant length, detail and importance to be recognised by the Fleet-at-large. Fleet Canon shall be recognised as default by all divisions within Pegasus Fleet as true, but individual simulations may choose to ignore any individual piece of Fleet Canon if they so choose to do so. Fleet Canon shall take primacy over all other In Character items on a Fleet level, with the exception of Trek Canon articles. All articles which fall under Fleet Canon must have the {{Icons|pfc}} template placed on their page on the Pegasus Fleet Wiki.
    1. The Chairman of the Galactic Anthropology Committee may nominate any item proposed before them to the Pegasus Fleet Admiralty for a vote to adopt the article as Fleet Canon.
    2. The article must have sufficient depth, length, and fleet-wide significance as well as be of a high quality of writing in order to be considered for Fleet Canon.
    3. Any updates to a Fleet Canon article, except for minor linguistic corrections or alterations, must be passed through another discussion and vote period.
    4. A simple combined majority vote of the PFA and Fleet COs shall pass any new or updated Fleet Canon article.
      1. The vote must last for a period no less than one week. The GAC Chairman or their chosen representative may request the vote be restarted, delayed or extended only if an objection or comment of sufficient weight to the decision is brought up during the voting process.
      2. Non-votes shall not be counted against the affirmative votes during the Fleet Canonisation polling process.
  4. GAC Article: A GAC Article shall be determined as any In Character event, individual, species, location or other In Character article that has been either composed by or in collaboration with the Galactic Anthropology Committee, or any article which has been voted upon and approved by same said body. GAC Articles shall be considered as Semi-Canon by the Fleet-at-large. They will be recognised as true by the Fleet and its divisions by default, but shall not feature as a major point in Fleet-wide Story Arcs unless upgraded to Fleet Canon. GAC Articles shall take primacy over all other In Character items on a Fleet level, with the exception of Trek Canon and Fleet Canon articles. All GAC Articles must have the {{Icons|gac}} template placed on their page on the Pegasus Fleet Wiki.
    1. GAC Articles may be written by a member of the GAC, collaboratively by the GAC, or by a non-GAC member and proposed to the GAC.
    2. Once the GAC Chairman is satisfied that the article is of a high enough standard, he or she may instigate a vote within the GAC. A simple majority will pass the item as an official GAC Article.
    3. Additions or changes to GAC Articles must receive the approval of the GAC Chairman.
  5. Sim Canon: Sim Canon shall be determined as any In Character event, individual, species, location, or other In Character article that occurred within an individual or group of simulations. Sim Canon may be considered true on the included sims, and any other sims which choose to recognise it as such, but shall not be considered as Canon by the Fleet-at-large. Sim Canon shall take primacy only on the individual sim(s) on which it is used. All Sim Canon articles must have the {{Icons|noncanon}} template placed on their page on the Pegasus Fleet Wiki.
  6. Any In Character item may be upgraded by following the outlined processes up through the levels of primacy, up to a highest point of Fleet Canon. No item not taking place on a mainstream TV show or in the first ten Star Trek movies is eligible for inclusion as Trek Canon.
  7. In order to be eligible for nomination as a GAC Article or as an item of Fleet Canon, the item must have first been up for discussion for the COs and general populace of the fleet. Such discussion is done by posting the item in the appropriate section of the forums and posting a message announcing such a posting to the CO list.
    1. This period of discussion may only be concluded a minimum of one week after the date of the last-posted comment in the thread, in order to allow proper time for all relevant points to be raised.
