The U.S.S. Icarus-A is the second ship of it's name to serve Starfleet, once more taking the position of a diplomatic cruiser, like it's predecessor did in the last few years of it's life. The Icarus hosts both a diplomatic embassy, and a Starfleet Criminal Investigative Services detachment, with no scientific, nor marine purposes attached. (For more information on the original U.S.S. History

Construction and Launch (USS Icarus-A)

The U.S.S. Icarus-A was commissioned in 2394, fully a century after it's predecessor's first launch, under Acting Captain Alyssa Renee. Built under the special guidance of the last commanding Officer of the U.S.S. Icarus, Captain Alexis Applewood.
