In his final moments Vice Admiral Dorin Kilus promotes Alexandra Vance to the rank of Captain and gives her command of the Niagara.
  • Stardate: 65279.2 Following the rescue of Vice Admiral Dorin Kilus from Teric Nor (Now Deep Space 10), an inquest into the extensive damage to the USS Niagara putting her out of service is launched on behalf of Starfleet Command by the Judge Advocate General. Captain Alexandra Vance is found to have been negligent in her duties leading to the incident resulting in the damage and is thus demoted to Commander and given command of the new Vesta Class USS Niagara(NCC-80485-B) and reassigned to the eighth "Horizon" Fleet.
