There is also a middle system, which consists primarily of one gas giant as well as a super-heavy terrestrial planet in a pair of perfectly opposing orbit with each other around the parent star. Each carries their own set of moons, however, the rocky planet, known as "[[Kirakk]]" was once a colony of an ancient and now long extinct species. It is also believed that Kirakk was actually once two separate worlds that were in a dual orbit with each other and eventually, merged through an artificial means. The outer section of the middle system is then zoned off by a large asteroid belt.

There is evidence that this merger was completed through an artificial means, as the surface of the plant has cooled far faster than what should normally be possible. The Artaleirh system was a star system within the space of the Romulan Star Empire. Although there is considerable evidence of the system's habitation extending back nearly two and a half billion years, there is as yet no known evidence of indigenous sentient ever evolving on any of the planets themselves.

The Artaleirh system's primary planetary location of note was the world of Artaleirh, the second terrestrial planet and third planet in the Artaleirh Starsystem. However, there are currently a total of eleven planets in the system. Two of the planets are captured rogue planets, with one of them being an extra-terrestrial-remnant which collided with another rocky terrestrial planet (as to whether planet it collided with was native to the Artaleirh system is currently unknown) and the other being a gas dwarf remnant.

There is also a small population of four dwarf planets within the system, one of which also not native to Artaleirh in the inner system, which is most likely a remnant from a much larger planet.

The system itself is made up of five areas which consist of the Solar core, the inner system, the middle system, the outer system and the outer cloud. Each of these areas contain at lease one planet and are separated, with the exception of the core and inner system, with some type of physical barrier.

History

The system itself is made up of a solar core; the star, "Artaleirh", along with a gas super-giant called Beaz which orbits just outside of the star's corona sphere. Next is the inner system, which consists of the first two terrestrial planets in the system as well as a gas dwarf called "Desseca" and a rocky dwarf planet named "Otulp". It is believed that both, Desseca, many of its moons and Otlup were once apart of another star system which was most likely torn apart by a passing rogue Neutron Star as both are dated to about one billion years younger than the other planets of the system, both carry mineral compounds not native to the system and are the remnants of much larger planets which were then ejected from a nearby system. The next area is separated by a small meteor belt which is filled with small, icy objects which were most likely deposited from the systems outer ice cloud when the two rogue planets were captured.

There is also a middle system, which consists primarily of one gas giant as well as a partially molten terrestrial planet in a pair of perfectly opposing orbit with each other around the parent star. Each carries their own set of moons, however, the rocky planet, known as "Kirakk" was once a colony of an ancient and now long extinct species. It is also believed that Kirakk was actually once two separate worlds that collided with each other and eventually, merged. There is evidence that this merger was completed through an artificial means, as the surface of the plant has cooled far faster than what should normally be possible. The outer section of the middle system is then zoned off by a large asteroid belt.

The outer system houses a group of four giant gaseous planets known as Metla, Qrimm, Bak and Zaavalm. Each of these planets are host to extensive rings and collectively host 451 moons.

Finally, the outer cloud of the the Artaleirh System consists primarily of small to medium-sized, icy meteors along with a few small moons and dwarf planets, most likely left over from the system's formation. There is also an extra-solar, super-heavy terrestrial planet known as "Ikkai" which is in an irregular, elliptical orbit, coming within point seven AU's of the outer cloud itself once every 643 years. As the planet itself has been found to be made up of the same materials as the other native planets within the Artaleirh Starsystem, it has been hypothesized that Ikkai had initially formed in the inner system, but when Beaz moved into its current orbit with Artaleirh, Ikkai was ejected from the system.

Prehistory

Although no indigenous sentient life evolved anywhere within the star system, archaeological evidence has suggested that at least one planet was host to a civilization a little over two and a half billion years ago. This world is the second planet from the system's parent star and the first terrestrial planet in the inner system. This world, known as Kemm currently hosts a very thin atmosphere, and absolutely no surface water, but geological and archaeological surveys have not only turned up evidence of surface oceans, but also of a technologically advanced civilization once existing there. This comes at a time when all of the other planets in this system would have most likely have still been cooling. However, as this world is the smallest out of all of the planets which are believed to be native to the system, it most likely followed a very similar evolution to that of the planet Mars in the Terran System, or of Chi Vos in the Cardassian System.

It is possible that indigenous had evolved in this system at one time, but due to an extensive astrological catastrophe, the planet which may have bore such life was ripped apart in a collision with a rogue planet some 214,000 years ago. However, there is evidence supported by both the geology of Kirakk along with various archaeological evidence spread throughout the system that the Kirakk once was home to an impressive civilization. The planet itself, while molten from experiencing a glancing impact with the foreign object, as since seen a partial solidification of its surface. Because of its proximity to the ice belt, massive amounts of water are continuously being delivered to the planets surface. To date, approximately 21% of its surface is currently covered in liquid water, furthering the cooling process of Kirakk's surface. Even more impressive, is that a trio of almost fully-formed moons appear to have formed in their own, stable orbits within the impact-debris ring. If the current accelerated trend continues, then it has been estimated that Kirakk may be capable of supporting humanoid life within the next eight hundred-million, to 1.03 billion years.

Early Colonization

Though there is no way to be certain, it would appear that the planet Kemm once briefly supported a civilization 2.5 billion years ago. At this time, the star Artaleirh would have been cool enough for liquid oceans to have formed and the planet itself is small enough to have fully developed a solid-rocky surface. Kemm is also currently has a moon of its own, which is most likely a captured dwarf planet.
