Edward Stuart is a Federation Starfleet officer, navigator, and pilot originally from the late twenty-third century and currently serving during the latter half of the twenty-fourth century. The highlights of his recent career center around assignments as Shuttle/Runabout Flight Officer aboard the USS Mariner, USS Taurus, USS Eagle, and USS Yorktown. In addition to his involvement with Starfleet's growing awareness of the Yang Zutal, Stuart is further distinguished by the fact he is one of several original USS Mariner crewmembers who chose to continue serving in Starfleet after their vessel was thrown forward in time to the late twenty-fourth century. He currently serves as Flight Control Officer aboard the Legacy-class USS Yorktown.

Appearance

Edward is a tall, well-built young man who, despite being gifted with a naturally handsome appearance, has never really found himself to be preoccupied with his own looks. He always manages to appear well kept without seeming flashy or shallow, preferring to choose simple elegance over gaudy or showy attire.

Personality

A relatively relaxed individual, Edward has a rather outgoing personality. His attitude toward the world around him has been strongly influenced by his sudden arrival in the twenty-fourth century when the Constitution-class USS Mariner encountered a temporal anomaly which brought the vessel nearly one-hundred years into the future. While some of his fellow shipmates may have become more introverted and reflective of the past, Edward has chosen to embrace his future, whatever it might hold for him. He's always willing to lend a hand where he’s needed, gaining satisfaction from the success and accomplishment of his peers as well as himself.

Strengths & Weaknesses

Edward Stuart has always been what could be considered an active participant in life. Though he has been thrust nearly one-hundred years into his own future, he has continued to demonstrate a passion for life that is almost infectious. It has been said by some that Edward's constant efforts to see the best in every situation may be an effort to avoid the less favorable aspects of life he has chosen to avoid. Those who know him best would argue that Edward's sociable nature is his greatest strength because it allows him to interact easily with others.

Ambitions

Like many of his fellow cadets, Edward entered Starfleet Academy with dreams of adventure and perhaps attaining a captaincy of his own one day. His encounter with the temporal anomaly which brought the crew of the USS Mariner into the twenty-fourth century has forced Edward to reconsider a few of the plans he may have had for his life. Yet he has not allowed it to dampen his spirits or, for the moment, his desire to continue serving within Starfleet.

Hobbies & Interests

Having grown up in a time without advanced holo-technology such as starship holodecks and the emergency medical hologram, Edward spent much of his free time immersing himself in Earth literature ranging as far back as far back as the works of the classical Greek writers. He bears a particular predisposition to the literary movements of Germany and England during the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. This can often be found to align well with his interest in the study of European history during these timeperiods as well.

Perhaps equally as important to Edward has been aviation and the art of piloting, which was what ultimately led to his decision to enter the field of flight control and small craft piloting in Starfleet. He has enjoyed the opportunity provided by modern holo-technology to engage in his love of aviation even while aboard ship, something he had not been able to accomplish in his own time.
