Events of Note
2151 United Earth launches its first Warp Five ship, the Enterprise NX-01, ushering in a new era of human exploration and engagement with the wider galaxy. (ENT begins)
2153 The Xindi Council launches a surprise attack on Earth that kills seven million people. Earth’s response ends in a diplomatic resolution when the Enterprise NX-01 assists in resolving internal Xindi political conflict.
2155 The xenophobic terrorist group Terra Prime attempt an attack on Starfleet Command in an effort to force all aliens from the Sol system. They fail, paving the way to closer human-alien relations. (ENT ends)
The Coalition of Planets, a precursor to the United Federation of Planets, is formed as a loose alliance among various Alpha and Beta Quadrant governments. These include United Earth, Vulcan, the Andorian Empire, Rigel, Denobula, Coridan, and Tellar Prime.
The USS Defiant NCC-1764 is seized from Tholians control by Terran Empire of the Mirror Universe. The ensuing internal power struggle in the Empire ends with the founding of the Sato Dynasty.
2156 The Earth-Romulan War begins

2245 The USS Enterprise NCC-1701 is launched from the San Francisco Fleet Yards and Captain Robert April assumes command.
2254 The USS Defiant NCC-1764 is launched.
The USS Enterprise NCC-1701 encounters the Talosians, resulting in the creation of General Order 7, forbidding anyone from approaching or making contact with the planet, under penalty of death. (The Cage)
2256 The Klingon-Federation War begins with the Battle of the Binary Stars. Starfleet suffers heavier losses, but the Klingon figurehead, T’Kuvma, dies. (DIS begins)
The USS Discovery NCC-1031 is launched from the San Francisco Fleet Yards. Captain Gabriel Lorca assumes command.
2257 The Klingon-Federation War ends.
Captain Christopher Pike assumes temporary command of the USS Discovery NCC-1031 before relinquishing it to Commander Saru. The Discovery is later reported destroyed with all hands.
2265 The USS Enterprise NCC-1701 crosses the Galactic Barrier. (TOS begins)
2268 The USS Defiant NCC-1764 vanishes.
2269 The USS Enterprise NCC-1701 finishes its five-year mission under the command of Captain Kirk. (TOS ends)
2270 A mysterious energy cloud (later identified as V’ger) enters Federation space on course for Earth. Initially believed to be hostile, it is eventually turned back after diplomatic engagement with the newly-refit USS Enterprise NCC-1701 under the command of Admiral Kirk. (The Motion Picture)
2285 The Genesis Device is stolen by Khan Noonien Singh and detonated inside the Mutara Nebula, forming a new planet, Genesis. (Wrath of Khan)

2293 The explosion of the moon, Praxis, threatens the long-term survival of the Klingon Empire. However, this leads to the Khitomer Conference and a new era of peace between the Federation and the Klingons. (The Undiscovered Country)

2332 Launch of the USS Enterprise NCC-1701-C.
2344 The USS Enterprise NCC-1701-C is lost assisting a Klingon outpost on Narendra III, under attack by the Romulan Star Empire. This act of self-sacrifice earns the respect of the Klingon Empire, revitalizing the peace established by the Khitomer Accords nearly half-a-century earlier.
2347 Hostilities break out between the Federation and the Cardassian Union. Initial conflicts include the Cardassian attack on Setlik III. The Federation-Cardassian War begins.
2363 The USS Enterprise NCC-1701-D is launched from Utopia Planitia Fleet Yards. Captain Jean-Luc Picard assumes command.
2364 The Federation makes first contact with a representative of the Q Continuum (TNG begins)
2366 A truce between the Federation and Cardassia is reached, marking the beginning of the end to the conflict and the start of the several-year process towards a treaty.
2367 The House of Duras challenges the installation of Gowron as Chancellor, leading to the Klingon Civil War.
2368 The Klingon Civil War ends with the defeat of the forces of Duras and the discovery of the House of Duras' Romulan backing.
2369 The crew of Deep Space 9 discover a stable wormhole connecting to the Gamma Quadrant in close proximity to the planet Bajor. (DS9 begins)

2370s

Events of Note
2370 Three years after the Federation-Cardassian Armistice of 2367 marked the end of hostilities, the Federation-Cardassian Treaty is finally signed, bringing a formal end to the war. Among other things, it creates the Demilitarized Zone along the border.
Rejecting the provisions of the treaty, a group of Federation and former Federation colony worlds declare unofficial war on the Cardassian Union, calling themselves the Maquis. Starfleet Command designates Maquis members to be traitors, while the Cardassian Union deems them terrorists.
The USS Enterprise NCC-1701-D prevents an anti-time eruption at the Devron system from causing untold chaos in the galaxy (TNG ends).
The Alpha Quadrant makes first contact with the Dominion when citizens of the Federation and Ferengi Alliance are captured by the Jem’hadar. Although they are successfully rescued, the USS Odyssey is destroyed by Jem’hadar attack craft.
2371 The USS Voyager goes missing on assignment hunting a Maquis cell in the Badlands. (VOY begins)
The Cardassian Obsidian Order and the Romulan Tal Shiar attempt a preemptive joint strike against the Dominion in the Battle of the Omarian Nebula. The battle is the first major engagement with the Dominion, and it ends disastrously for the Cardassian/Romulan task force.
The USS Enterprise NCC-1701-D is destroyed over Veridian III. (Generations)
2372 The Klingon Empire invades the Cardassian Union, convinced their government has been infiltrated by Dominion Changeling agents. The Federation objects to this action, causing the Empire to withdraw from the Khitomer Accords.
The USS Enterprise NCC-1701-E is launched from the San Francisco Fleet Yards. Captain Jean-Luc Picard assumes command.
The Antwerp Conference is bombed by the Dominion. The subsequent tightening of Federation security provides opportunity for an attempted coup by Admiral Leyton.
War breaks out between the Klingon Empire and the Federation.
2373 The Borg invade the Federation but are halted at the Battle of Sector 001 by the actions of the USS Enterprise NCC-1701-E and its crew. (First Contact).
The USS Voyager, having formally been declared lost with all hands, is discovered to have been stranded in the Delta Quadrant after the crew establishes contact with the USS Prometheus NX-74913.
The Cardassian joins the Dominion and, with their support, eradicates the Maquis resistance movement. The Dominion signs non-aggression treaties with several powers, including the Romulans, Tholians, Miradorn, and Bajorans.
In response to these developments, the Khitomer Accords are reinstated between the Federation and the Klingon Empire.
The Dominion War begins with the Battle of Deep Space 9, where the Dominion take control of the Bajor sector and the wormhole to the Gamma Quadrant.
2374 The Federation suffers heavy losses in the early months of the Dominion War, most notably with the decimation of the Seventh Fleet at the Tyra system.
Deep Space 9 and the Bajoran wormhole are retaken, thanks to the efforts of joint allied forces in Operation Return.
The Federation is defeated at the Battle of Benzar and, later, the Battle of Betazed when the Dominion launches surprise assaults that successfully capture both planets. The Eleventh Fleet is destroyed attempting to defend Benzar.
The Dominion murder of a Romulan senator breaches their cease-fire with the Romulan Star Empire, who soon joins the war on the side of the Federation and Klingon Alliance.
The Alliance launches their first major offensive with the First Battle of Chin’toka. While ultimately successful, heavy losses prevent further advances beyond this beachhead in Cardassian space.
2375 Admiral Matthew Dougherty of Starfleet and Ahdar Ru’afo of the Son’a attempt to forcibly relocate the Ba’ku with the intent of harvesting the metaphasic radiation from their planet’s rings. However, Captain Jean-Luc Picard and the USS Enterprise NCC-1701-E crew prevent them from doing so long enough to convince the Federation Council to allow the Ba’ku to remain on their planet. (Insurrection).
The Breen Confederacy becomes formally allied with the Dominion. They launch a devastating surprise attack against San Francisco and Starfleet Headquarters.
The Second Battle of Chin’toka drives the Alliance out of Cardassian territory, aided by Breen energy dampening technology.
Legate Damar forms and leads a rebellion to drive Dominion occupation and Breen influence from his people’s worlds. In his rallying speech, he cites the losses of seven million Cardassian soldiers in the war.
General Martok assumes leadership of the Klingon Empire after Chancellor Gowron is killed in a duel.
Zek is succeeded as Grand Nagus of the Ferengi Alliance by Rom.
Damar’s rebellion is crushed. Lakarian City, population two million, is destroyed by the Dominion as punishment for this insurrection.
Cardassian forces turn on the Dominion, but this results in further retaliation and an order to begin eradicating the remaining Cardassian population. An early casualty estimation puts the Cardassian dead at eight hundred million.
With the assistance of the Cardassian forces, the Federation Alliance is able to achieve superiority over the Dominion, win the Battle of Cardassia, and extract a complete surrender.
The Treaty of Bajor marks the end of the Dominion War. It includes the complete withdrawal of Dominion forces from the Alpha Quadrant as well as the return of all Dominion-occupied territory to its previous sovereign powers. The Breen-Dominion alliance ends, and the Cardassian Union once again becomes a self-governing power. (DS9 ends).
Federation assistance to the Cardassian Union begins.
2376 Bajor officially joins the Federation. Integration of Bajoran Militia officers into Starfleet begins.
The Pathfinder Project establishes monthly two-way communication with the USS Voyager via the Midas Array.
2378 Daily two-way communication established with the USS Voyager including real-time visual communication.
The USS Voyager returns to the Alpha Quadrant after destroying a Borg transwarp hub, dealing a significant blow to the Borg Collective. (VOY ends)
2379 The Romulan Senate is assassinated and an officer named Shinzon is narrowly prevented from staging a coup d’etat by Romulan and Starfleet forces. (Nemesis)
Captain William Riker and the crew of the USS Titan begin renewed talks with the Romulan Star Empire.

2380s

Events of Note
2380 The crew of the USS Cerritos discover the Pakleds have become a greater threat than first realized by Starfleet. (LD begins)
2381 The Romulan Star Empire admits they have learned the Romulan star is facing a sudden and unexpected supernova, with the potential to kill hundreds of millions.
Admiral Jean-Luc Picard assumes command of the USS Verity to coordinate the Romulan evacuation effort. Although supported by many, the commitment to assist proves unpopular among certain members of the Federation.
Refugees fleeing the impending supernova of the Romulan sun are relocated to other worlds within the Romulan Star Empire and also Federation worlds along the Romulan Neutral Zone.
2383 Construction begins on the first graviton catapult structure in the Alpha Quadrant.
The USS Prodigy NX-76884 is discovered by a group of youth on the Tars Lamora prison colony in the Delta Quadrant, having been recorded lost years before. (It is yet unknown when or if Starfleet will become aware of this.) (PRO begins)
2385 On April 5, synthetic workers at Utopia Planitia Fleet Yards stage a sudden attack that destroys the yards and a rescue armada intended to aid the Romulans. The Martian atmosphere is set ablaze and nearly 100,000 people are killed.
The Federation Council places a ban on synthetic lifeforms.
A group of Federation worlds reiterate their opposition to supporting the Romulan evacuation and threaten to rescind their membership. Starfleet abandons its evacuation plans.
After ten years of work, the formal Cardassian reconstruction effort is concluded and allied forces begin the process of withdrawing from Cardassia Prime.
2386 Vice Admiral Roman Sanchez reconstitutes the Eleventh Fleet, establishing its headquarters on Cestus III with responsibility for overseeing operations in the galactic-south of the Federation.
The USS Vesta is launched from the 40 Eridani A Fleet Yards. Field testing of the quantum slipstream drive is deemed successful and the Vesta enters active service.
2387 The Romulan supernova occurs, destroying Romulus. Damage beyond the system is mitigated by the efforts of Ambassador Spock, whose ship is lost in the creation of the black hole that absorbs the supernova.
The Romulan Star Empire splits into multiple factions with the loss of Romulus and the entirety of Romulan space is in dispute. This is further complicated by the rise of additional smaller pirate, rogue, or rebel factions.
Starfleet Intelligence reports signs of escalating pirate activity, including the theft of a number of Starfleet vessels from a salvage yard, at the edge of known space in the Galactic South.
2388 The Ritorian Confederacy allies itself with a new group known as the Sojourners, giving rise to the Sojourner Crisis.
Testing of the first graviton catapult is completed and the Alpha Quadrant catapult is declared fully operational. Surveys of the Iota system and surrounding space in the Delta Quadrant begin.
2389 Construction begins on Iota Station as the main beachhead and operational command center. Work also begins on the second catapult structure located in the Delta Quadrant.
Starfleet Command orders expansion of Eleventh Fleet operations into areas of Federation space beyond the Galactic South.

2390s

Events of Note
2392 The threat of the Sojourners collapses with their defeat at the Battle of Archa IV and the Sojourner Crisis ends.
Testing of the second graviton catapult is completed and the Delta Quadrant catapult is declared operational. Iota Station is completed and declared fully operational.
The Eleventh Fleet provides core elements of the new Delta Quadrant Exploratory Group to begin expeditionary operations in the Delta Quadrant.
2394 An accident involving the Alpha Quadrant catapult results in the destruction of a transport vessel. The program is immediately suspended while a full investigation is begun. Meanwhile, a two-pronged effort is launched to re-establish support lines to the exploratory group.
Negotiations begin with the Dalacari Republic and the Ts’usugi Empire for access to their artificial wormhole technology - the Pathstone Project.
