A Task Group Commanding Officer is a senior ship or starbase captain, and is in direct charge of up to half a dozen starships and starbases of various classes within their Task Group. They are directly subordinate to their Task Force Commanding Officer, and form an important link in the Task Force's internal chain-of-command.
