Category:Restricted Canon

Restricted canon is a modifier to a submission to the resources department that has been deemed to be slightly troublesome, worrisome, or just too difficult without actually being detrimental enough to be marked as disallowed canon. Usually, material is classified as restricted canon when the material is too ‘powerful’ or out of perceived balance, and the submitter does not wish to refine their submission any further.

Restricted canon can only be used on a sim if the request is approved by both the sim's commanding officer (CO) and the majority of the joint body of the resources department and the Pegasus Fleet admiralty. A commanding officer who is already a member of either of these bodies must seek out another member to act in this capacity, and a majority is required to allow the usage. Once allowed, the material is authorized for use on that sim only.

  • Material listed as restricted canon requires the approval of both the commanding officer and a majority of the the resources department and the Pegasus Fleet admiralty.
  • In the event that the commanding officer is also a member of the joint approval body, they cannot act in this capacity for the purposes of approval.
  • Restricted canon status merely modifies what is involved in gaining the approval to use the material. As such, restricted canon status can be applied to any other tier of canon.

In addition to any materials listed here, the following are also considered to be in Restricted standing, regardless of their other Canon Tier status:

  • Shapeshifter (Changelings, Chameloids, 8472...)
  • Androids, Augments or mobile emitter-equipped Holograms.
  • Races from the Delta Quadrant.
  • Races from the opposing side of recent wars or of a hostile nature to Starfleet.
  • Characters with physical or mental powers beyond those shown by major characters on the shows/movies (Excluding other restricted or disallowed races)
  • Characters with physical appearance or behavioural traits dissimilar enough so as to cause confusion over the characters actual age. (ie: Adults that look like children or characters appearing childlike behave as adults)
  • Characters from official sources, or their relations.
